Come and Play Days

Supported by the University of Aberdeen Music Department

Next Come and Play Day

Following a successful Come and Play Day in October, we are looking into hosting more of these events across the year. If you're interested in being part of these, please sign up on the applications page.

If you took part in the October CAPD, please make sure you tell all of your musical friends about it and encourage them to come along to future musical days!

Summer Course

Paused for now

GYO performs a concert annually and enjoys a well-attended audience wherever it performs, which is regularly at the Music Hall, Aberdeen.

Every year, the orchestra gets together for a rehearsal day before embarking on a course later that year, which ends with a concert.  For its 10th Anniversary, GYO embarked on an exciting European Tour.  There is another tour planned for 2025.

We have decided to pause our summer course to allow the number of GYO-level young musicians in the area to recuperate following COVID.

Players of all orchestral instruments are invited to apply to audition for membership of GYO.

Players from anywhere in the North East of Scotland (born or studying in) between the ages of 12 and 22 are eligible.  Players should be at ABRSM Grade 7+ level, but players working towards this level are encouraged to apply.
